For five years now, Zombicon has been a zombie-themed art and music
festival held Downtown Fort Myers, FL. It gives people the chance to
dress up and express their creativity by “zombying-up”, and filling the
streets of our beautiful historic downtown. The very same downtown that
was used in George Romero’s “Day of the Dead” in 1985. (Watch it on our
VIDEOS page) Zombicon is run by
“Pushing DaiZies, Inc.”, a non-profit organization hell-bent on
collecting food donations for Harry Chapin Food Bank and blood donations
for the Lee Memorial Blood Center. This year is a little different than
past years. Zombicon WEEKEND (you heard right) will feature a
daytime convention in the Harborside Convention Center filled with
vendors, workshops, performances, interactivities, video games, movies,
costume contests and more. When night falls, Zombicon hits the streets
in a downtown-wide street festival with bands, DJs, drink specials,
rides and more. |
